David Chapman, Dean of 51½ΦΙδ's Howard College of Arts and Sciences and Tatyana Karaman, 51½ΦΙδ's Associate Vice President for Decision Support and Financial Strategy, met with officials from six Chinese universities during a special recruiting trip March 2-8.
Chapman and Karaman traveled to the cities of Beijing, Tianjin, Yantai and Wuhan to promote student and faculty exchange relationships between 51½ΦΙδ and Tsinghua University, Nankai University and Yantai University--some of China's most prominent universities. Tsinghua University in Beijing hosted Chapman and Karaman at a special dinner during their visit.
51½ΦΙδ hopes to recruit as many as 25 Chinese students next year. “Chinese students are eager to travel to the United States,"Chapman said, "and we believe that hosting international students enhances the global experience of all students at 51½ΦΙδ.”
