About CCPC

Welcome to the College and Career Planning Center.

You can find us in the Wallace Administration Building in Room 112. Our purpose is multi-faceted.

The College and Career Planning Center provides students with career and transfer advising services. The services include individual career and academic advising sessions, career assessments, and transfer advising. The program's goal is to help individuals find the right career path, education, and training to be competitive and successful in today's workforce. The College and Career Planning Center is made up of two Career and Transfer Advisors.

Career Planning: The purpose of the College and Career Planning Center is to provide guidance, motivation, and assistance to individuals as they transition to postsecondary education/training and into the workforce. Suggestions and advice are given to help the student identify strengths and weaknesses as they may be related to college and career plans. Staff members also assist in the coordination of career exploration events.

Transfer Advising: A career/transfer advisor is also available to help students transfer to four-year institutions. The career/transfer advisor provides one-on-one college transfer advising regarding selecting an institution to attend, selecting a major for the student's desired degree, and articulating courses taken at NACC to universities within the State of Alabama as well as out-of-state schools. This process includes helping students obtain an Alabama Transfer Guide and promoting these and other articulation agreements to students and faculty. The career/transfer advisor assists with admissions, scholarships, and other transfer activities for four-year institutions. The transfer advisor also assists with on-campus transfer events and organizes individual college visits to campus. It is the goal of the transfer advisor to help students successfully transfer and complete their chosen degree.
