Northeast’sÌýRural Health Club serves its community by providing healthcare exposure and volunteer experience to students from rural areas interested in serving their medically underserved communities through healthcare professions.ÌýMembers of the club aim toÌýmake a positive change in their immediate community regarding rural medicine, student opportunity, and health disparity.ÌýAs an affiliate of the AlabamaÌýRuralÌýHealthÌýAssociation (ARHA) and the NationalÌýRuralÌýHealthÌýAssociation (NRHA), thisÌýclubÌýwelcomes day, evening, and online students who plan to enter theÌýhealthÌýprofessions, as well as anyone who has an interest in improvingÌýhealthcare and the lives of people inÌýruralÌýcommunities. Ours is the first ARHSAÌýclubÌýto be organized in Alabama at a community college. NACC joins with several of the 4-year colleges and universities in offering thisÌýclubÌýon its campus.ÌýRural Health Club emphasizes community outreach and disseminating information aboutÌýhealth-related careers,Ìýhealth-related issues and legislative actions related especially toÌýruralÌýhealth.Ìý
